A 28-year-old man is due in court Tuesday for his part in kidnapping a woman from an Owasso PetsMart store last month.

Michael Dale Nelson is due for his arraignment Tuesday morning following his arrest in October, according to the arrest report. He is in court on complaints of domestic abuse, kidnapping and planning or threatening a violent act.

KTUL.com previously reported that the incident occurred at the PetSmart on 121st East Avenue.

According to the police report, officers were told by witnesses that they'd seen a man come into the store and force a woman worker into a car outside. Later in the evening, they received word that Nelson's car had crashed on a highway close to Avant.

Police said that the female victim had sustained injuries from the crash and was transported to a local hospital. She later told officers that her and Nelson have a child together and have been in an off and on relationship for five years.

Oklahoma Department of Correction records show that Nelson has prior convictions that include drug possession, drug manufacture and arson.
