(CNN) - Holiday flights are booking up early this year.
The Wall Street Journal reports a dramatic increase in sales for flights for the Christmas and New Year's Eve holidays. Those sales are already up more than 50 percent from a year ago.
One possible reason for the uptick in sales, according to the Journal, is that there were nine prime holiday travel days last year. This year, there are at least 11. Those extra days may make it easier for families to travel farther distances and stay at their destinations longer.
