Former Bryant band teacher charged with sexual assault
BRYANT (KATV) - A former Bryant band teacher was arrested on Halloween on a first degree sex assault charge.
The Saline County Prosecuting Attorney's Office tells Channel 7 News 36-year-old James Chad Green was arrested by Bryant police and the incident did involve a student. They would not confirm the student's age or gender.
Green was released on a $25,000 bond the night he was arrested. KATV's research shows he has no criminal history in the State of Arkansas.
Bryant School District officials would not comment on the case or confirm whether or not Green still works for the district, calling it a personnel matter. However, a Bryant Police Department press release refers to him as "a former Bryant High School Band teacher."
The investigation began in January but charges weren't filed until October 16 and Green wasn't arrested until October 31. The investigation has since been turned over to the Saline County Prosecutor's Office.
