A Different Kind of Holiday Gift

Posted: Updated:

Here's a different gift idea for the holiday from Heifer International.

Instead of that tie, or sweater or big screen TV, how about giving a goat or a water buffalo to your loved one?

OK, you won't actually give the animal as a gift, you'll be donating the animal to Heifer International in honor of your family member.

Heifer calls the offering the "Most Important Gift Catalog in the world".  It features animals that will go to families in hunger and poverty around the world, providing milk, eggs and meat to promote self-sufficiency.

You can call 800-422-0473 to get a catalog, or browse online at www.heifer.org/catalog
