Rep. Crawford re-elected to First District seat

Posted: Updated:

JONESBORO (KATV) - Prosecuting Attorney Scott Ellington conceded the First District congressional race to incumbent Republican Rick Crawford with just 35 percent of precincts reporting.

During his victory speech, Rep. Crawford said, "I have been a strong advocate for the balanced budget amendment, I will continue to fight for that and I believe that is the message the voters of the first district of Arkansas sent tonight, that you are behind me and fundamental reform about the way Washington does business CLAPS and so we're going to get down to business and try to reform Washington."

Ellington called Crawford and thanked him for a clean, issue-oriented race.

You may recall Ellington had a major role in the deal to free the West Memphis 3.
