Small Mono Outbreak at White Hall School District

Posted: Updated:

School administrators in one Jefferson County district are trying to stem a small mono outbreak.

Doctors have confirmed more than a dozen cases of Mononucleosis amongst White Hall school district students recently.

The Department of Health says the spread of the virus serves as a reminder that students should make sure to wash their hands frequently, refrain from sharing drinks, and to make sure to always cough into their sleeve.

Superintendent Larry Smith even sent out a letter reminding parents to do everything they can to keep their child healthy.

The department of health also warns that parents should keep their child at home if they have a temperature of 100.5 or higher.
