(KATV) Little Rock - It's almost time to crown
the 2012 State Fair Rodeo Queen. The ladies competing are judged on
personality, appearance and horsemanship. At a lunch they were asked a question
that could be about anything from current events to roping event penalties.
Several of the contestants
have a background in rodeo and while beauty is important, there's more to
winning this pageant.
2011 State Fair Rodeo Queen
Lily Rowland says, "When you win this title, you have the opportunity to attend
rodeos and you get to push cows and it's good if you have a background of being
able to work cattle. I think that's one thing that separates us apart from the
fair queens is you really have to be able to ride a horse."
This year's State Fair Rodeo
Queen will be announced during the professional bull riding competition at 7:30
p.m. Saturday at Barton Coliseum. For the results, click here.
