LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - U.S. Sen. Mark Pryor of Arkansas and his wife are divorcing after 20 years of marriage.
The two-term Democratic
lawmaker's wife, Jill, filed for divorce on Friday in Pulaski County
court. The two were married on July 4, 1992 and the filing said the two
separated in July of this year.
A spokesman for Pryor said
the divorce was a mutual decision between the two and asked for privacy.
The couple has an 18-year-old son and a 17-year-old daughter.
Pryor was elected to the
Senate in 2002 after defeating incumbent Republican Sen. Tim Hutchinson
and won re-election without any major party opposition in 2008. Pryor
announced earlier this year that he'll seek re-election in 2014.
