Rape charges against a Jefferson
County constable have been dropped.
Deputies arrested 50-year-old
Thomas Eagle in August, but after further investigation, the prosecutor's
office said they cannot press charges because the statute of limitations has
run out for the one victim who claims he was raped as a child.
The victim, now 27-years-old,
told deputies he decided to come forward after Eagle reached out to him on
Facebook.
Eagle did not confess to
the rape. He was released from custody Thursday. Eagle is currently the constable
in Melton Township.
