(KATV) Some
Kroger customers got something extra Saturday along with their
groceries.
Students
from UAMS College of Pharmacy are celebrating American Pharmacists Month
by conducting free health screenings. "Know your Medicine, know
your Pharmacist" is the theme again for this year.
Saturday,
students were at 29 Kroger pharmacies throughout the state. The free
test included checking blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar.
Student
Andy Roler says, "We can check their blood glucose levels for free
and know immediately if they are at risk or if they do have
diabetes."
The
event kicked off a series of activities sponsored by the UAMS College
of Pharmacy student group, American Pharmacists Association and the
Academy of Student Pharmacists.
Kroger
supplied the screening supplies for the students.
