Trial set for former firefighter accused of downloading child porn

Posted: Updated:

BENTON (Saline Courier, KATV) - A 2013 trial date has been set for former Benton firefighter Timothy Ryan Bodkin, who is charged with downloading hundreds of images of child pornography to a computer in his home.

Bodkin, 38, was released from the Saline County jail on Aug. 31, after a family member paid a $200,000 sheriff's bond. He faces 1,000 counts of felony possession of child pornography.

A June search warrant of his computer found a minimum of 1,000 disturbing images. He was arrested when he arrived at North Little Rock's bus station and taken to Saline County.

Bodkin has since resigned from the Benton Fire Department. He is not a registered sex offender but if he is convicted in this case, that will change.

A two-day jury trial for Bodkin was set for Feb. 26 and 27.
