(CNN) - Coffee lovers beware: a new study shows drinking at least three cups of joe a
day could increase your risk of glaucoma.
Researchers found your risk of
getting a certain type of glaucoma, called exfoliation glaucoma, goes up
66 percent if you drink more than three cups of caffeinated coffee a day.
The same result was not found in other caffeinated beverages such as soda or
tea.
The lead researcher says the results still need to be confirmed through more studies.
You can read the study in the October 3 edition of "Investigative Ophthalmology and Visual Science."
