Little Rock celebrates National Night Out Tuesday evening

Posted: Updated:

Neighbors, law enforcement agencies, businesses and local officials are celebrating safe communities Tuesday evening in Little Rock with National Night Out.

The block parties hope to increase awareness for prevention of crime, drug, and violence. Many of the parties will include food, games, and information on anticrime programs and health screenings.

"Most years there are neighborhoods that plan their own activities without partnering with the City – so we expect that there will be even more sites throughout Little Rock on October 2nd," said Andre Bernard, Director of Housing and Neighborhood programs for the City of Little Rock. "No matter who does the planning, the result is a notable one. This one night can help create relationships for neighbors that last all year. We're very proud to be a part of this annual event."
