Ex-USA Drug official pleads guilty to fraud charge

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - A former advertising executive with USA Drug has been sentenced to prison after pleading guilty in Little Rock to mail fraud and money laundering charges.

U.S. Attorney Christopher Thyer says 43-year-old Garret Sorenson of North Little Rock was sentenced to 33 months in prison after entering the plea Monday in U.S. District Court in Little Rock.

Sorenson admitted to inflating the value of advertising inserts, billing the company for inserts that were not placed and charging USA Drug an inflated service fees between 2005 and 2007.

As part of a plea agreement - 31 other federal charges against Sorensen were dismissed.
