JONESBORO (AP) - Antonio Andrews rushed for 215 yards and Western Kentucky scored 26 straight points in the second half en route to a 26-13 victory over Arkansas State on Saturday in the Sun Belt Conference opener for both teams.
Mitchell Henry caught a pair of touchdown passes from James Mauro in the third quarter that helped the Hilltoppers (4-1) overcome a 13-0 halftime deficit. Andrews added a 2-yard TD run in the fourth quarter and Garrett Schwettman hit two field goals to help Western Kentucky pull away.
Arkansas State (2-3), which was unbeaten in the Sun Belt last season, led early after a 4-yard scoring pass from backup quarterback Fredi Knighten to Anthony Kincy and two field goals from Brian Davis.
Red Wolves starting QB Ryan Aplin was 23 for 40 for 204 yards passing, and added 41 yards rushing.
