If you can't get by without your morning cup of joe, you
aren't alone.
A new survey finds many professionals feel more productive at
work when they drink coffee. Those who
say they need it the most to get through the workday are:
- Food Preparation/Service Workers
- Scientists
- Sales Representatives
- Marketing/Public Relations Professionals
- Nurses (Nurse, Nurse Practitioner or Physician
Assistant)
- Editors/Writers/Media Workers
- Business Executives
- Teachers/Instructors (K-12)
- Engineering Technicians/Support
- IT Managers/Network Administrators
"There's a reason why coffee is a staple in the
workplace," according to Cynthia McIntyre, Vice
President of Marketing & Communications at CareerBuilder. "Workers
report that coffee fuels higher energy and productivity, and serves as a means
to socialize with colleagues."
The survey reflects that thought as 43 percent claim they
are less productive without their cup of joe. Workers who drink coffee
typically have more than one cup. 63
percent actually drink two or more cups each day and 28 percent drink three or
more.
Dunkin Donuts and CareerBuilder commissioned the survey to tie
in with National Coffee Day which is Saturday.
The survey was conducted from August 13
to September 6, 2012 and included more than 4,100 workers
nationwide.
