After knocking off No. 3 Sam Houston State last Saturday in Conway, the University of Central Arkansas Bears jumped in both FCS football polls on Monday.
The Bears, 3-1 and winners of three consecutive games, are ranked No. 14 in the FCS Coaches' Poll and No. 16 in The Sports Network poll. Sam Houston State dropped to 9th and 10th. Fellow
Southland Conference team McNeese State is currently ranked 21st and 24th.
The Bears beat the Bearkats 24-20 at First Security Field at Estes Stadium, scoring two touchdowns in the final 3:18, then intercepting SHSU's final pass in the end zone as time expired.
UCA is 3-0 since a season-opening loss at FBS Ole Miss. The Bears travel to Nacogdoches, Texas, this weekend to take on Stephen F. Austin at 6 p.m. at Homer Bryce Stadium.
