Rev. Jesse Jackson leads a march in Jonesboro for Carter

Posted: Updated:

Rev. Jesse Jackson led a march earlier today alongside Carter's mother, Teresa Carter, in remembrance of Chavis Carter.

The demonstration started at the site where Carter was pulled over and ended at the police station. Jackson used this opportunity to share some strong words for not only the Jonesboro Police Dept. but the city's government as well, specifically, its lack of diversity. He says it has a lot to do with the findings in Carter's case.

"That suggests that there's an imbalance in opportunity," said Jackson. "We must be able to be police together, firemen together and judge together, work together, pay taxes together. This land is our land," he said.
