Mindless Behavior in Little Rock

Posted: Updated:

When you buy a ticket to a concert, you pretty much know what you're getting.

The artist or group will spend a couple of hours playing a few new songs and most if not all of their familiar hits.

But what if your buy a ticket to a jam, bash or party?  Then what would your expectations be?

They are four young teens with only a handful of hits. But Mindless Behavior is already a headline act.

Last week, rap quartet made a pit stop in Little Rock.

(Radio spot recorded by the members of Mindless Behavior) "Little Rock…what is good? This is…Mindless Behavior. We want you and your friends to come party with us at the End of Summer Bash at the Metroplex."

"The energy was completely unbelievable," recalls Joel Ratliff, aka DJ No Name and General Manager for The Streetz, 101.1 FM…the Little Rock radio station that promoted the concert.

Ratliff says tickets to the Mindless Behavior appearance sold for $20 each…much less than a concert ticket because it wasn't a concert.

So what was expected of the group?

"Come in…maybe do a song or two," says Ratliff.  "They actually did three songs. Do a song. Say hi to the kids. Take pictures. And get up and get out of here."

"I honestly thought it was a concert," says Gladine Davis of Little Rock.

Davis paid for her two daughters and a niece to go see Mindless Behavior.

They say they waited four hours before the group finally took the stage.

"They never sung any songs," recalls 19 year-old Ashley Davis.  "About two or three songs played of theirs and they danced to the songs. By that time after about five minutes on stage they walked off and that was the end."

Unless you paid $10 or $20 dollars more to go backstage and have a picture taken with the group.

"It was not worth it," says 8 year-old Kyla Davis about her very first concert.

"900 people…somebody is going to be mad about something," says Ratliff.  "But hey…that is what you expect though. But we're happy."

Ratliff says Ms. Davis is the only person who has complained.

He says everybody else had a great time.
