The Tulsa Drillers are happy to see the Northwest Arkansas Naturals leave town as the Naturals wrapped up a four-game sweep of the Drillers Thursday night, winning 2-1 at ONEOK Field.
Northwest Arkansas scored in the top of the first when Yem Prades led off the game with a double and came around to score on a single by Sharlon Schoop.
Tulsa knotted the score in the third on Tim Torres' RBI single that brought home Josh Rutledge. But, that was all the scoring the Drillers could muster.
Despite matching the Naturals with ten hits in the game, Tulsa batted just 1-of-7 with runners in scoring position and stranded eight base runners.
Northwest Arkansas didn't do so hot, either, going just 2-for-8. But, the second instance came in the top of the sixth on Eric Duncan's RBI single.
Northwest Arkansas swept the four-game series, allowing the Naturals to pull within a single game of the division leading Drillers. Tulsa is now 24-and-16 overall, but just 1-and-7 against Northwest Arkansas.
Next up for the Drillers is a four-game road trip to Springfield beginning with Friday night's game at 7:06 p.m. Tulsa returns home Wednesday to begin a series against Frisco.
