TU Refutes National Claim Of Ended Conference Merger

Earlier today, Brett McMurphy of CBS Sports posted an online article claiming the Conference USA - Mountain West merger "probably will not happen."

McMurphy cites "industry sources."

The following is the University of Tulsa's official response:

"The University of Tulsa response to a speculative story published on CBSSports.com regarding the merger between Conference USA and the Mountain West ––

There has been no changes in discussions regarding the affiliation between Conference USA and the Mountain West Conference. Presidents of the 16 schools are scheduled to meet again at the end of the month as the two leagues continue to move forward. Further information will be made available sometime after those meetings."
