The San Antonio Missions spoil the Drillers home opener Thursday night at ONEOK Field, 2-1. The game was scoreless until the fourth when Missions first baseman Nathan Freiman hit a solo home run off Edwar Cabrera to left to take a 1-0 lead. Jason Hagerty took Cabrera deep to right a couple of batters later to give San Antonio the 2-0 lead.
The Drillers cut the Missions lead in half in the 6th Inning. Michael Mitchell singled to left scoring JOsh Rutledge and San Antonio was up 2-1. That's as close as the Drillers would get.
Cabrera (1-1) got his first loss of the season. He gave up two runs on five hits in six innings of work.
Tulsa and San Antonio continue their three-game series Friday night at ONEOK Field. The first pitch is set for 7:05pm.
