Oklahoma State's NIT-champion women's basketball team will be honored during a ceremony at the State Capitol Thursday.
The Cowgirls overcame extreme adversity this season following the deaths of head coach Kurt Budke and assistant Miranda Serna in a plane crash last November.
OSU alumni, pilot and former Oklahoma State Senator Olin Branstetter and his wife, Paula, also died in the crash west of Little Rock on November 17th.
Under the direction of Jim Littell, OSU won the Women's National Invitation Tournament, defeating James Madison in the championship game late last month in Stillwater.
It's the first WNIT championship in program history.
The Oklahoma State Senate will honor the members of the team Thursday morning at 10 a.m. on the Senate Floor with a reading of a Senate Concurrent Resolution.
