Missing 15-year old Feared Endangered

Posted: Updated:

(KATV) A Conway endangered runaway is likely in Texas by now, that according to police. Most tips coming in to Conway detectives over the past week haven't panned out, until Thursday.

She is 15. There are several reasons why Kourtnei Cunningham is considered endanger. She is alone; police know for sure she isn't at a friend's house. Family says she doesn't have money or a cell phone and she is getting rides closer to the Arkansas state line.

Kourtnei Cunningham is a typical 15-year old girl who loves dressing up and hanging out with friends, but she's going through growing pains. Her aunt, Donna Moody says, "Just going through being a young adolescent and just going through stages of life."

Kourtnei ran away March 21st, her family meets with Conway police for updates daily, Thursday they received a promising lead – A woman at a truck stop near Texas recognized Kourtnei from a flyer, even bought her breakfast. The woman later saw the girl sleeping in the bathroom. But by the time police arrived, Kourtnei was gone; surveillance video confirms it's her.

"To imagine her getting in the car with someone, it just makes me nauseous and sick," Moody says.

Latresha Woodruff with the Conway Police Department says Kourtnei may have hitched rides to Texas by now and police there are on the look-out. "She has to eat, she's going to sleep somewhere, she is encountering people and she's 15-years old. So that's very alarming to us."

Moody has been doing her own detective work, driving to all the cities tips are coming from. "Just call us, let us know, we want to hear her voice."

Everyone is on edge, worried who 15-year old Kourtnei Cunningham may approach for a favor next. Woodruff concludes, "Some strangers are not good people to be with. Hopefully she runs into people who will help her out and maybe give us a call."

Her aunt adds, "We just want to love her, get her back home, keep her safe and know that we're here for her no matter what. I'm not upset with Kourtnei."

Kourtnei may also use the names Dollie Crave, Pretty Crave or Ace.

You're asked not to approach and scare her off, just call police and keep an eye on her.

DESCRIPTION: Cunningham is described as having a thin build, being five and a half feet tall and weighing about 130 pounds. She is African American with brown eyes and black hair.

Anyone with information as to her location is asked to contact an investigator at 450-6130 or text a tip anonymously to 274637 (CRIMES) using keyword "Conway."
