Former ORU's Hinson Returns To Head Coaching - KATV - Breaking News, Weather and Razorback Sports

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- National reports state former ORU and Missouri State men's basketball head coach Barry Hinson has been hired for the same position at Southern Illinois University.

Hinson is very familiar with SIU and the Missouri Valley Conference. He spent 9 seasons at SMS/Missouri State in Springfield where his teams qualified for the NIT three times but never the NCAA Tournament.

Following his firing at MO State in 2008, Hinson joined Bill Self's staff at Kansas where he has remained for the past 4 seasons.
