University of Tulsa fifth-year senior Steven Idlet was named to the five-member Conference USA Basketball All-Academic Team, it was announced today by the C-USA office.
Idlet, a 6'11" center, has maintained a 3.24 grade point average in History. He also was named to the league's all-academic team as a sophomore in the 2009-10 season.
The Prairie Grove, Arkansas native became Tulsa's 34th player in school history to score 1,000 career points. He went over the 1,000-point plateau against Tulane on February 25, finishing the game with 1,006 points. Idlet currently has 1,019 points and has scored 295 points this season.
Idlet averages 10.2 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.0 blocks, while shooting .526 percent from the field ad .727 percent from three-point range this season. He has scored in double-figures in 15 games this year, including a career-best 23 points against Southeastern Louisiana.
The remaining C-USA All-Academic Team includes East Carolina's Maurice Kemp, A.J. Rompza of UCF and Rice's senior duo of Connor Frizzelle and Lucas Kuipers.
