Audit at UAPB shows $736K unaccounted for

Posted: Updated:

PINE BLUFF (KATV) - Hundreds of thousands of dollars are unaccounted for at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, an audit finalized Monday shows.

Four employees at the school have already been fired, including the chancellor's secretary, Rita Ticey, who was let go last week. Ticey was in charge of finances at the Harrold Complex, the most populous dorm on campus, where the audit revealed she mismanaged money for years.

The University of Arkansas audit shows she used her position to overpay her family, mismanage grant money, and forge documents, among other allegations.

In all, there is over $736,000 the auditors say could not be verified and is unaccounted for.

Chancellor Lawrence Davis is expected to address the audit's findings on Wednesday. The university is cooperating with the investigation and has indicated it will make the necessary changes going forward.
