
(KATV) On Monday, February 20, officers with the Benton Police Department took a report of a possible child abuse.
It was determined that a three month old child had been taken to the hospital and was suffering from a broken leg and cracked ribs.
Detectives followed up on the incident and subsequently arrested Christopher Williams, 30. He is charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Minor (D Felony) and Battery 1st Degree (Y Felony).
Williams was associated with the infant and it was not a case of a stranger harming the child.
Williams was apprehended without incident and transported to the Saline County Detention Facility. This is an on-going investigation and more charges could be forthcoming.
