
Senior Marian Kursh earned her first career Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week honor after leading the UALR women's basketball team to a 2-0 week with wins over FIU and Troy to remain at the top of the west division. For the week, she averaged 17 points and five rebounds.
The Fort Smith, Ark.-native shot 73.7 percent from the floor and 85.7 percent from the free throw line for the week.
In the win over FIU, Kursh led the team in points with 14 while going 5-of-9 for 55.6 percent from the field and 4-of-5 for 80 percent from the free throw line. She also recorded three rebounds, a block, and a steal in 15 minutes of action.
In the win at Troy, Kursh led all scorers with 20 points recording her fourth 20-plus scoring game of the season. She went 9-of-10 from the floor for 90 percent shooting and 2-of-2 from the line.
Kursh also led the team in rebounds and recorded two assists and one steal.
