TULSA -- TU men's basketball was stopping a skid before it starts this time. The Golden Hurricane responded to a loss earlier in the week at Southern Miss with a 69-50 win over Rice.
Sophomore guard Jordan Clarkson led all scoring with 23 points, tying his career-high. Another big contribution came off the bench with senior Steven Idlet scoring 18 for TU.
TU trailed in the opening minutes and once more when an Omar Osby jumper made it 21-19 with 9:53 in the first half.
The Golden Hurricane responded with a quick 7-0 run and remained on top for the remainder of the contest.
Tulsa's 9-4 conference record remains a half-game behind Memphis and Southern Miss at 9-3.
TU is 16-11 overall this season and plays again next Saturday at Tulane.
