KATV Channel 7 - The Spirit of Arkansas: Arkansas Soldier Killed in Afghanistan

The Department of Defense announced Saturday that a soldier from Russellville was killed in Afghanistan.

The military says Sgt. Jerry D. Reed II, 30, died February 16^th. 

The Department of Defense has not released any details about Reed's death.

He was assigned to the 2^nd Battalion, 28^th Infantry Regiment, 172^nd Separate Infantry Brigade based in Germany.
