Sebastian County Sheriff Bill Hollenbeck confirmed during a press conference Saturday afternoon that the body of a woman was found on the property of the Lloyd Jones located off of Highway 96, north of Lavaca.
A cadaver dog indicated the presence of human remains near an outbuilding on the property. The body was found in a blue, plastic barrel buried approximately 2 to 3 ft deep.
Hollenbeck said the clothing on the body was consistent with that of 16-year-old Angela Allen who went missing from Van Buren.
The body was transported to the Arkansas State Crime Lab in Little Rock. The sheriff's office is awaiting an autopsy report to confirm the identity of the body.
Jones is in the custody of the Sebastian County Sheriff's Office.
