Doug Wojcik recorded his 138th-career win at the helm of the Tulsa men's basketball program with a 72-48 victory over Houston, making him the all-time winningest coach in school history.
The Golden Hurricane (15-10, 8-3 Conference USA) used a 19-2 run early in the second half to pull away from the visiting Cougars (11-13, 3-8 C-USA) in front of a crowd of 4,764 fans Saturday night at the Donald W. Reynolds Center.
Wojcik moved past Clarence Iba (1949-60), who ended his illustrious career with 137 career victories.
Sophomore Jordan Clarkson led all scorers with 21 points, and he scored in double figures for the 22nd-straight game. Senior center Steven Idlet added 15 points and nine rebounds off the bench, and junior guard Scottie Haralson tallied 13 points.
The Golden Hurricane returns to the court on Feb. 15 when the team travels to Hattiesburg, Miss., for a showdown with first-place Southern Miss. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
