FARGO, N.D. - Dominique Morrison led a cast of five scorers in double figures with 36 points, 27 of which came in the second half, as Oral Roberts (21-5, 13-1) pushed past North Dakota State (15-8, 8-5) 85-76 to stay in first place in the Summit League standings.
Morrison's 36 points was two off his career high as he hit 10 of his 17 shot attempts and 14 of 16 from the free throw line to lead all scorers in the contest. It is his third 30-point game of the season and the sixth of his career.
Damen Bell-Holter found double digits early in the game with 12 points in the first half, finishing with 16, his best game offensively since scoring 18 at IUPUI on January 14. Bell-Holter also had a team high eight rebounds.
Roderick Pearson had 12 points and a team-high three assists, while Warren Niles hit five of seven shot attempts for 11 points despite not attempting a 3-pointer for the first time in his career.
Steven Roundtree rounded out the double-figure scorers for ORU with 10 points.
The Bison also had five scorers in double figures, led by Mike Felt's 19 as he hit seven of eight shots and five of six from behind the arc. Lawrence Alexander had 16, Taylor Braun had 13, and Marshal Bjorklund and Eric Carlson had 10 and 12, respectively, inside.
ORU dominated inside with a 48-24 advantage in the paint, and took advantage of 11 Bison turnovers, converting them to 14 points, eight on the fast break.
The Golden Eagles will return home on Thursday to face IUPUI at 7:05 p.m. and will then host Western Illinois in this year's ORU Homecoming game at 7:05 p.m. Saturday.
