Authorities say a Hot Springs Village couple was killed when the car they were riding in left the roadway and struck a tree.
Arkansas State Police say the crash happened Sunday afternoon on U.S. 65 in Chicot County. According to an accident report, the crash killed 80-year-old John Thyfault and 78-year-old Lois Thyfault, who were passengers in the car.
The driver of the car and another passenger were injured.
Police say the car was traveling north on U.S. 65 when it left the roadway, striking a concrete divider and going through a guardrail and into a ditch. It then struck a tree and overturned.
The victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
