Garth Brooks Flashback - KATV - Breaking News, Weather and Razorback Sports

Most people know the Garth Brooks they see in concert or on Country Music Television.  But did you know he once participated in track and field at Oklahoma State?

That's right.  He competed for the Cowboys in the early to mid 80's.  I was told he was a pole vaulter, but was able to find more pictures on the web of him throwing the javelin.

Tulsa's Channel 8 was not granted permission to use those pictures.  This photo came from Oklahoma State University.  OSU said it was the only photo of Garth's track days in their archives.
