Apparent Murder-Suicide Being Investigated in Calhoun County

Posted: Updated:

Calhoun County authorities are investigating their first homicide of the year after two bodies were found there Saturday around noon.

The body of Dennis Queen, 54, and his ex-wife  Rhonda Jean Tacker, 40, were found inside Queen's home at 3025 County Road 182 in Hampton.

Coroner Jimmie Davis tells KATV that Tacker texted her neighbor that Queens had posted something about her on Facebook and would take it off if she came over to his house.  Davis said  when she entered the home all of the doors were locked.

Davis says it appears they got into an argument and Tacker was shot four times. Queens then is believed to have turned the gun on himself.

Their bodies have been sent to the State Crime Lab for autopsies.

The coroner says there was a long history of domestic violence and the couple divorced within the past year.

We will have the latest tonight at ten.
