The duo of Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook has been solidified with the announcement that Westbrook has signed a multi-year contract extension with the team.
The Oklahoma City Thunder made the announcement on its Twitter feed shortly after noon Thursday.
Westbrook, who was a second-team All-NBA point guard last season, is averaging 20.5 points, five rebounds and 5.5 assists per game for the Thunder, who own the best record in the Western Conference despite Wednesday night's stunning loss at Washington.
While the Thunder have not disclosed details of the deal, Yahoo! Sports says it's worth 80 million dollars over five years.
