U.S. Rep. Mike Ross says he's disappointed more Democrats haven't announced they're running for his south Arkansas seat, but says he doesn't think the field is settled yet.
Ross told The Associated Press on Friday that 1 of the reasons he announced in July that he wouldn't seek re-election was to give Democrats a chance to consider running for his seat. Ross is a Democrat who represents the 4th district.
So far, only two Democrats have announced they're seeking the party's nomination for Ross' seat. Four Republicans have said they're running.
Ross said he expects to see more candidates to join the Democratic race in the coming weeks. Ross said he hasn't backed any of the Democratic candidates and is waiting for the field to settle.
