The Oklahoma City Thunder have shipped center Byron Mullens to the Charlotte Bobcats for a future draft pick.
The Thunder pulled off the deal Monday, sending the 7-footer to the Bobcats in return for a second-round draft pick in 2013 and cash considerations.
In 26 games over the past two seasons, Mullens averaged 1.5 points per game. He was selected by the Mavericks in the first round of the 2009 NBA Draft, but his draft rights were sent to the Thunder for Rodrigue Beaubois and a future second round pick.
Mullens played one season at Ohio State before declaring for the draft. He averaged 8.8 points and 4.7 rebounds for the Buckeyes as a freshman.
In Charlotte, the Bobcats hope he can step in to fill the loss of Kwame Brown, who signed with Golden State.
