After a two-year hiatus, former University of Tulsa center Michael Ruffin is back in the NBA.
Ruffin signed with the Denver Nuggets Thursday. It's his seventh NBA team.
His signing comes two years after he last played in the league. Last year, he became a coach for the American Basketball Association's Colorado Kings, but returned to playing in late 2010 for Spain's Obradoiro CAB.
Ruffin played at TU from 1995 to 1999 and finished his career as the all-time leading rebounder in TU history. He led the Western Athletic Conference in rebounding as a senior in 1999 with 10.4 boards per game.
He was selected by the Chicago Bulls in the second round of the 1999 NBA Draft and would have an 11-year NBA career with the Bulls, 76ers, Jazz, Wizards, Bucks and Trail Blazers.
In 414 career regular season games, he has averaged 1.7 points and 3.9 rebounds per game.
