The 2011-12 NBA season is back on and now that the players are heading back to the courts, Vegas oddsmakers say Oklahoma City is among the top three or four teams in the league this year.
Jay Rood, the race and sports director at the MGM Mirage puts the Thunder at 5-to-1 odds to win the title this year. Rood has Miami as the favorite at 2-to-1 with the Los Angeles Lakers second a 9-to-2 and the Thunder and Chicago Bulls tied for third at 5-to-1.
Oklahoma City advanced to the Western Conference Finals last year before falling to the eventual champion Dallas Mavericks.
The players and owners reached a tentative agreement to end the nearly five-month lockout over the weekend and training camps are expected to begin December ninth.
The first NBA games are expected to be played Christmas Day, but the full NBA schedule hasn't been released by the league.
