(KATV) Little Rock - The state has had some short sleeve
kind of day, but it's a totally different feeling in the air in the
River Market. It looks a lot like Christmas.
The Arvest River Market on ice
officially opened Saturday. One of the open air pavilions has been
turned into an ice rink.
One of the great things about it is you
have plenty of time to get out there an enjoy it. The rink will be
open 51 days. The last day is January 8th.
R J David with Arvest River Market on
Ice says, "You pay $9, that includes the skate rental for an hour.
You'll be surprised how tired you get in an hour because skating is
one of the best cardiovascular exercises you can do." You can bring
your own skates, but it will not discount admission. Groups of 15 or
more get $1 off admission. Groups must pay together. Kids under 4 get
in free with an adult.
The rink will be open from 4 p.m. To 9
p.m. Monday through Friday through December 16th. On Saturdays the
hours are 10 to 10 and Sunday's they'll open at noon and close an 8
p.m.
The hours will be extended through the
week after the 17th and if you get too cold, they also
serve hot chocolate.
