Developing News: Stolen SAU Trailer Found, No Horses Inside

(KATV) Magnolia - The search is still on for five quarter horses stolen between 10 p.m. Wednesday and 6 a.m. Thursday from the Mulerider Stables at Southern Arkansas University.

Thursday night the trailer was found in Oklahoma, just across the Arkansas border.

The horses belonged to students. Also stolen was a horse trailer and riding equipment.

It's believed the suspects fled the SAU Mulerider stable in a 4-door Ford truck.

The horses are described as follows:

1)      American Quarter Horse, 16 years of age, gelding, black in color, bearing a rocking "M" brand on its left hind quarter.

2)      American Quarter Horse, 7 years of age, female, gray in color.

3)      Quarter Horse, 14 years of age, female, buckskin in color.

4)      Quarter Horse, 15 years of age, gelding, Sorrell in color, bearing a rocking "V" brand on its left front quarter, as well as a "K" brand on its right hind quarter.

5)      Quarter Horse, 12 years of age, female, black in color, bearing a circle "M" brand on its left hind quarter.

The horses were taken a day before the 30th annual Southern Arkansas University Rodeo. It ends November 5.

The SAU team competes against colleges and universities in the Ozark Region; that includes Arkansas, Missouri, Mississippi, Ohio, Indiana, Georgia, Michigan, Alabama, Kentucky, Tennessee, Illinois, and parts of Louisiana.
