The Tulsa Drillers continue their hot streak. They complete a seven game road sweep with a 13-9 win Monday night against Northwest Arkansas. The win pulls the Drillers to within one game of the Naturals for the lead in the North Division.
Tulsa was up 8-4 in the seventh. Then the Naturals rally and tie the game with four runs in the bottom half of the seventh. The Drillers regained the lead in the eighth, just to have NW Arkansas force extra innings with a run in the bottom of the ninth.
Tulsa took control in the top of the tenth with four runs to led 13-8.
Tim Wheeler hits his 33 home run of the season in the tenth. It makes Wheeler the Tulsa Drillers single season home run king passing both Bubba Smith (1996) and Kevin Buckley (1983).
The Drillers return home to ONEOK Field Tuesday to begin a seven game home stand starting with Springfield. These are the final seven game of the regular season.
