There were two fatality motor vehicle accidents on Interstate 30 today in Saline County with one involving a pedestrian, according to Arkansas State Police officials.

However, as of press time, the names of the deceased, nor any information on how many people died in the accidents was not available by state police. Information on the cause of the accidents was also not available during press time.

Around 4 a.m. today state police said two tractor trailers wrecked, with one overturned, in the eastbound lane of I-30 near the 116 mile marker. Around 5 a.m., another tractor trailer hit a pedestrian alongside I-30 near the Alexander exit.

Bill Sadler, spokesman for the Arkansas State Police, said at press time the pedestrian was transported to a local hospital and he believes the pedestrian had died, but he had no official word from the State Trooper that worked the scene.

Due to both accidents, the eastbound lanes of I-30 was temporarily shut down early today.

More information will be provided as it becomes available.
