
The government has stopped collecting taxes on airline tickets -- but that doesn't mean you're getting a break.
Normally your ticket, say it's 300 bucks, would include 25 dollars in federal taxes.
But because of a fight on Capitol Hill, the F-A-A is partially shutdown and can't legally collect that money right now.
You'd think you'd be saving money, right? Wrong!
Most major airlines immediately raised prices so they would effectively pocket money. Only a few passed the savings on, like Alaska and Frontier Airlines.
