MORRILTON – The mayor of Morrilton says clean up on a building that collapsed in May will begin later this month.
Mayor Stewart Nelson says the property owners have notified the city that the clean up will begin on July 22nd.
The building, which collapsed killing 2 year old Alissa Jones, and injuring six others including the girl's mother, housed a Merle Norman cosmetics store and a formal wear dress shop.
The contractor cleaning up the debris from the collapsed building has a $1 million liability policy – there has been concern that other buildings on the block might collapse.
