Peterson Leaving Program
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Senior to be Jeff Peterson of the University of Arkansas men's basketball team asked for and has been granted a release from the Razorback program, Arkansas head coach Mike Anderson announced on Friday.
Peterson (6-0, 192) played one season for the Razorbacks after transferring in from the Univ. of Iowa. He started 23 games for Arkansas and averaged 6.3 points and 2.2 rebounds while dishing 70 assists and making 25 steals. Peterson was one of four Razorbacks who participated in graduation ceremonies this May, earning his degree from the Walton College of Business.
"I was a bit surprised that Jeff has decided not to return for his final year," Arkansas head coach Mike Anderson said. "I wish him the best in his future endeavors."
"I appreciate everything that the Razorback program has done for me," Peterson said. "My number one objective when I came here was to earn my degree and I accomplished that in May. The coaches and fans have been great in my two years, but I just felt that it was time to explore other opportunities."
