Naturals win, Travelers lose

(AP) - In the Texas League last night, the Northwest Arkansas Naturals beat Tulsa 10-6. Springfield beat Arkansas 2-1.

The Naturals play Tulsa again tonight at 7:05 p.m. The Travelers play at Springfield at 7:10 p.m.

TROY-UALR

UALR to host Troy in Sun Belt college baseball

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - The University of Arkansas at Little Rock is to host Troy in a three-game Sun Belt Conference college baseball series.

UALR and Troy are to play Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Gary Hogan Field in Little Rock.

UALR is 14-20 overall and 3-12 in the SBC while Troy is 19-18 on the season and 6-8 in conference play.

VANDERBILT-ARKANSAS

Arkansas hosts Vanderbilt in college baseball

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) - The University of Arkansas is set to host Vanderbilt in a three-game Southeastern Conference baseball series.

The Razorbacks and Commodores will play Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Baum Stadium in Fayetteville.

Arkansas is 23-15 overall and 7-8 in the SEC while Vanderbilt is 28-10 on the season and is also 7-8 in conference play.

Arkansas names associate athletic director

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) - The University of Arkansas has hired an associate athletic director for marketing and fan development.

The university announced Thursday that Elvis Moya comes to UA from Texas Tech where he was director of marketing and fan promotions.

Athletic director Jeff Long said Moya's addition is part of the university's efforts to find innovative ways to market the program and to enhance game day experiences for Razorback fans.

ARKANSAS-JOHNSON

New Arkansas women's coach completes staff

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) - New Arkansas women's basketball coach Jimmy Dykes has completed his coaching staff with the hiring of Chris Johnson.

The university announced the hiring Thursday.

Johnson comes to UA after serving as an assistant at TCU where he focused on recruiting, academic monitoring, scouting, game preparation and on-court coaching. Johnson previously was a high school head coach in the Houston area and was an NAIA All-American at Houston Baptist.

He joins Christy Smith and Tari Cummings on Dykes' staff.

PALMER CUP

Arkansas, Oklahoma golfers named to Palmer Cup

CONWAY, Ark. (AP) - Golfers from the University of Central Arkansas and from Oklahoma State University have been named to the 2014 Palmer Cup teams.

UCA's Pep Angles - who is from Spain - was named Thursday to the European team while Oklahoma State's Wyndham Clark was named to the U.S. team.

The United States and European teams will compete in a Ryder Cup-style competition on June 26-28 at Walton Heath Golf Club in Surrey, England.
